Director, Publisher Development

About the position

Playbuzz, the world’s largest engaging-content creation platform is on the look-out for an experienced team leader to launch and scale its publisher monetization group. Based in New York, this position offers a unique opportunity to introduce innovative ad revenue products focused on maximizing user engagement.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Reporting into VP of Business Development
  • Hire, train and manage a team of publisher account executives and account managers
  • Work in collaboration with the Product and Ad-Operations groups to develop new advertising formats and introduce these to the publishing market
  • Directly cultivate relationships with large digital publishers, audience owners and gaming platforms. Interactions will be based on calls, meetings, event participation. Role requires a 10%-20% travel
  • Grow a P&L operation based on two new flagship products which were tested at scale with existing supply side partners
  • Develop go-to-market strategy, budget, target lists, lead qualification process
  • Define operating team processes, goals and KPIs
  • Collaborate daily with General Managers in other global offices
  • Contribute to special projects and company strategic initiatives

 

Qualifications Include:


  • Ad-tech industry experience of 5-7 years with proven managerial experience
  • Responsibility over more than $10MM in annual revenues at a 30%+ margin
  • Proven track record signing advertising deals with digital publishers directly
  • Deep network of digital publishers, direct connection to high trafficked entities
  • Understanding of common ad-server implementations and advertising products
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, goal and target oriented executor
  • Strong communication skills and familiarity with the media buying jargon
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
